In the midst of COVID-19 our economies are bleeding, our borders are closed and we are talking isolation rather than mobility. Never before has access to and retention of international talent been more complex. Yet at the same time, we do need the best and brightest to help us recover and create the growth we need post the current crisis. How can your city improve its international position for attracting talents? There are clear services that cities and countries can provide, in cooperation with companies, universities, clusters and NGOs.

There is no need to reinvent the wheel, there are best practises and methodologies available to learn from.

Training session: November 25. Oslo, Norway

The global competition for talent is rapidly intensifying. Not only do employers need to step up efforts to attract and retain international talent, but cities, regions and countries are now entering this competition as well.

More and more European locations are now taking active steps to enhance their attractiveness to skilled workforce, creative talent and entrepreneurs – but what are the best strategies and tools for attracting talent, now and in the future once we seek to recover from the economic implications of COVID-19?

Due to high demand, we hold an annual training session called Talent Attraction Management for European Cities and Regions that provides you with strategies and tools to successfully attract and retain talented people.

Talent Attraction Management Training Programme was held for the first time in 2016 in Amsterdam and Copenhagen, in 2017 in Berlin, 2018 in Malmö and Lund, and 2019 in Porto, Portugal. More than 100 practitioners from all over Europe and beyond have benefitted from this seminar, where we allow up to four people delegations from a given region.

Format

We offer a 3 step learning journey:

1) Talent Attraction Management vs COVID-19: Borders closed, isolation rather than mobility, bleeding economies. How are the best entities in regional talent attraction and retention managing the new situation. Join the exclusive TAM EU participants only webinar to be held end of August 2020.

2) Warming up – Your Talent  strategy: Future Place Leadership presents the key elements of the talent attraction management model for places and we discuss key strategic challenges for each participant. Partly master class/webinar middle of October and serves as build up to discussion and programme priorities for actual training session.

3) TAM EU training November 25th
Action: Either on site in Oslo or digitally if COVID-19 comes in the way.

The event is held in conjunction with Nordic Place Branding Conference on November 26 giving you the opportunity to continue your deep dive into place branding and place making – The conference where you learn what places do to earn a reputation. Learn more here.
