Nordic Place Branding Conference – NPBC – is the largest annual Nordic event for economic development and marketing of places, featuring best practices from cities, regions and countries in the Nordics and globally.
Since 2015, this event has been connecting people working within the public and private sectors with place branding and marketing, place development, innovation, investments, talent attraction, urban planning, economic development, and tourism, carefully selecting professionals and organisations that actually want to create better places.
NPBC allows participants to walk away with something they can put into practice themselves: by learning the latest strategies on place development and marketing for places, but also by co-creating a sharing environment where to discuss how places need to be reimagined.
NPBC believes that this chance to connect and find yourself in this incredible network of excellent and passionate minds, is crucial today more than ever.
That’s why the 2022 edition of Nordic Place Branding Conference will be dedicated to reimagining places in a post-covid world, discussing the crucial role and responsibilities of cities, countries and regions in the decade of building back better after the pandemic, sustainability and climate action.
This event will be in conjunction with the H22 City Expo running from May to July – a whole global city festival dedicated to innovation, sustainability and change.
But most importantly, dedicated to places.
On the 15th of June – after an amazing day at the main conference the day before – we have a special programme of inspiring study visits in store, reserved to NPBC participants.
One of the study visits will be an exclusive guided tour through Helsingborg, including two special visits: Frediksdal and Drottninghög, where IKEA has set up two innovative projects.
For the sixth year in a row, the ArtStreet HBG festival is taking place in Helsingborg.
Join an exclusive tour through the city led by Hanna Schedin Carter to learn about the artworks – including a preview of new additions! – the artists behind them and the preparations for the upcoming festival, as well as the connection between street art and place branding.
The tour will take us thorough the area Söder, where the city has also done a lot of work within placemaking.
Helsingborg is a Nordic frontrunner in the digitalization of destination development.
In this tour, led my Madelene Hansson, we’ll explore Helsingborg’s work with digitalization within destination development and tourism, introducing the app “Guide Helsingborg” and the work behind it.
The tour will end at Destinationspaviljongen – a new form of tourist centre with focus on experience, that is being set up for the H22 City Expo.
Here, we will get a chance to learn about how Sembo has created a unique data driven booking technology “aiming to disrupt the full process of how package holidays are produced, booked, marketed and distributed in the future”.
Also, a representative from Helsingborg will talk about “the self-marketing destination”.
Future Place Leadership will run a workshop on how to attract and retain international talent, to identify concrete collaboration activities across regions and borders that to further develop and pilot in the fall of 2022.
The workshop will show industry trends and practical advices on how to develop the right funnel from generic awareness to niche value proposition and actual leads.
